US Chief Executive Officer
Simon Pearce joined the New York office of mcgarrybowen in March 2015 as U.S. Chief Executive Officer. With experience on both the client and agency sides, Simon brings more than 25 years of holistic, versatile, and global leadership and brand-building expertise.
He hails from Omnicom/BBDO, where he most recently oversaw the global HP account as EVP, Worldwide Business Lead. In that role, he managed a global cross holding company solution created to service one of the world’s largest computer and electronic makers.
An innovator and solutions-oriented leader, Simon also led the charge for industry firsts—both for the client and the sector—such as the introduction of ONE while at Ogilvy & Mather, the first charge card with a built-in, high-yield savings account for American Express. His focus on breakthrough innovation and market-moving results may come from his time spent on the client side. As Executive Group Director at SAB Miller, Simon led Miller’s repositioning as a challenger brand, successfully taking on category giant, Anheuser-Busch, with an uninterrupted, double-digit, 24-month growth period. He also led the launch of the brand’s Pilsner Urquell beer across Europe and Asia, and Fosters, an internationally distributed lager, in the U.S.
Since arriving at mcgarrybowen, Simon’s continued this momentum. Recently, the agency won expanded creative and digital duties on a mainstream consumer beauty brand and was appointed global AOR for a leading fitness brand.
Simon is a graduate of the University of Durham. He began his professional career as a brand manager at Guinness Brewing, and has since worked at some of the world’s top marketing services (Y&R, D’Arcy, McCann Erickson, Wieden+Kennedy) and public companies (SAB Miller, Coca-Cola) companies.
