Although singing may not be her strong suit, leading powerful, award-winning, fully integrated marketing programs is. Laurel Flatt, President of mcgarrybowen Chicago, fine-tuned her skills during a 10-year stint at Fallon Minneapolis, working with such clients as EDS, Nikon, and Citi. With a resume boasting Effies, an Emmy, a Cannes Lion, and Adweek’s Campaign of the Year, Laurel joined mcgarrybowen in 2009, bringing to the agency a potent mix of experience and talent—and a die-hard commitment to her clients.

Finding the work “incredibly inspiring both personally and professionally,” Laurel was deeply affected by how the campaign celebrates the strength, bravery, loyalty, and kindness at the heart of every Disney princess, not to mention every little girl everywhere.
Before finishing her masters degree at Northwestern University, Laurel graduated from the University of Michigan with a history degree, which is slightly ironic considering the best piece of career advice she claims to have received is, "Don’t look back."
Regardless, Laurel is keeping a tight focus on the future for both Disney Parks and Resorts, as well as mcgarrybowen as a whole. As she continues to lead the Chicago office, Laurel is constantly asking how we can engage our audiences in ever more meaningful ways. Fortunately for us, she continues to find answers.
